Science and Technology Policy Council
The role of the Science and Technology Policy Council is to promote scientific research and research training in the sciences and encourage technological progress in Iceland, for the purpose of strengthening the foundations of the country’s culture and boosting the competitive capacity of its economy.
Operating under the direction of the Prime Minister and consisting of ministers, scientists and business representatives, the Council formulates public policy on scientific research and technological development.
